President's Report
Greetings. KC ASPE met at KC ASHRAE last month for the annual ASPE/ASHRAE chapter meeting. Thank you to all of the attendees and our presenter. IPEX USA presented Changes in UL1738 and Flue Gas Venting. The presentation was informative.
The next KC ASPE chapter meeting will be held on Monday February 13h at Cinzetti’s. We will be provided with a small buffet style catered lunch. Please be sure to RSVP so the caterer can prepare. For anyone who is not yet comfortable with meeting in person, please select the virtual option when you RSVP.

As an ASPE member you have an online community, connect.aspe.org, If you have already signed up you know it is a daily open forum to ask questions, get design advice from other ASPE members, or to follow discussions. There are great questions and it is interesting to follow the discussion. Check it out if you have not already sign up for it.
Certified Plumbing Design (CPD) Exam;
Time is running out to be able to study for the Certified Plumbing Design (CPD) exam in April. If you are studying for the exam, we have some studying material for your use. Please contact me or any board member if you are taking the test so we can support you.
To be eligible to take the CPD Examination, a candidate must possess:
- A minimum of four years of experience in a position of responsibility for the design of plumbing systems and possess a baccalaureate degree in a field related to engineering; or
- a candidate may substitute up to an additional four years of practical experience in the design of plumbing systems, for a total of eight years, or be granted a credit of one-half year of practical experience for each full year of education in an accredited curriculum related to plumbing engineering.

NFPA 99 Medical Gas designer requirement;
NFPA 99 now has a requirement for designers of medical gas to have an ASSE 6060 certification. If
you are interested ASPE’s next medical gas workshop will be held on February 23-26, 2023.
